Probably the best
Patong shopping is at Jungceylon.

This is
the biggest mall
at Patong and the west coast of Phuket
Island and it becomes very busy in the
evening, but they close the place
already at 10pm. Prices are a bit
higher as elsewhere but the rents
have to be paid somehow, this is
expensive area.
The
Jungceylon Mall is ideal for
families and other who are not
interested in the Patong nightlife
with naughty girls, bars, ladyboys,
shows and get drunk. Until about
2006 this place was swamp just
behind the Patong nightlife scene at
Bangla Road, now its the best
shopping destination on Phuket
Island, its really amazing how quick
things change.
When
people in Thailand smell money
things go quick since the banks are
quite easy on lending, but they only
lend money to Thai people, not to
foreigners. Beside of hundreds of

shops,
massage parlors and restaurants,
there is a Millennium hotel
integrated and at the open central
plaza in the complex is a life size
Chinese Junk, every evening a
continuous light and water show is
on. There are thousands of tourists
having fun at the mall every
evening.
At
the central plaza and at the main
entrance to Jung Ceylon,
opposite Bangla Road are also some
shows, dance and other performances
to lure people to the place. Patong is amazingly diverse, I
don't know any holiday destination
on the planet with such a diversity.
The reason probably is the free
wheeling business environment in
Thailand where almost everything
goes, means also everything which
might bring money is tried. Since
Thailand has no "social swing" and
the salaries for the working people
is very low, people are trying to
start businesses since this is the
only possibility to earn reasonable
money.

Visiting Jungceylon
It a excellent
nightlife trip, the are open until around 10pm.
After the bars are getting busy, the mall is
just across Bangla road the
premier night fun on the island.
Maybe you find a
nice Patong girl for short-time fun, longer time
is rather unusual, that’s not in the system.
Actually at Patong are plenty of nice Thai bar
